CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Two siblings were electrocuted at Rohonpur union of Gomastapur upazila in the district on Thursday evening.

The victims are Hesam Uddin, 32, and his younger brother Rafiz Uddin, 28.

Makbul Hossain, Sub Inspector of Rohonpur police Investigation centre, quoting locals, said, Rafiz Uddin was repairing roof of a tin-shed house of one late Nobab Ali around 7:30 pm. Suddenly he came in contact with an electric wire and while trying to save Rafiz, his elder brother Hesam also was electrocuted and both died instantly.

Gomostapur thana officer-in-charge Firoz Ahmed early Friday confirmed the matter to banglanews.
