DHAKA: Election commission (EC) has been installing a new mobile-friendly application to make easy the issuance of National Identity cards, the process of collecting, amendment etc.

EC sources said the step was taken to spread the service to margin-level people. Information and communication Technology (ICT) department of post, telecommunications and ICT ministry is working on the project

When the application will come in action any citizen would get necessary guideline related to ID cards within a short time. 

The ICT department is making the application for mobile phone users. Now, the services are available in EC’s website. 

System Manager Md Rafiqul Haque of the department said we provide all required information and support as we want to spread the facilities to the utter level.

People can call and send SMS to get any information to make ID cards. They will also establish an alternative ‘data recovery site’ in case of emergency.

A deputy-secretary of establishment department of EC said the project would be implemented soon.
