FROM PARLIAMENT: State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday said there is plan to make Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) an independent force as the force is an organizational unit of police.

The elite force is being controlled by the Home Ministry.

The home minister came up with the assertion while addressing parliament in response to a written question on RAB’s controversial activities from Netrokona-1 constituency lawmaker Habibur Rahman Mollah during the budget session.

He also told the House that departmental and legal action would be taken, if allegation found against any RAB person, after investigation.

Reformation to the all units of police is a continuous process, he told the House.
