NAOGAON: Lightning claimed lives of a man and his wife when a thunderstorm swept Azul village under Mahadevpur upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Matin, 27 and his wife Benu Begum, 22. 

Sources said that lightning struck the victims while they were doing their household works around 9:30pm, leaving them dead on the spot.

Mahadevpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Enayet Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
