LALMONIRHAT: Two children drowned in Dharla River at Mogolhat union in the district Sadar on Monday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Nirob, 9, son of a late Nur Islam and Rafiqul Islam, 8, son of Saidul Islam, hailed from Karnapur village of the union.

Local sources said Nirob and Rafiqul fell in the Dharla River while they were taking bath.

Later, local people rescued them and rushed to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital where on duty declared them dead. 

Residential Medical Officer of the hospital Nobiar Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
