COX’S BAZAR: Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) fired gunshot targeting a Bangladeshi trawler which was going to Malaysia illegally carrying some Bangladeshi fortune seekers.
The incident took place at East-South point of Saint Martin island of Bay of Bengal on Wednesday morning.
Some people feared dead, local sources said.
When contacted, Coastguard Teknaf Station Commander Lieutenant Harun-ur-Rashid said on information, they have sent three teams to the spot.
Details will be available after their return, he added.
