DHAKA: Five judges, who have been regular in the High Court division of the Supreme Court (SC), will take oath on Thursday. 

Registrar of the Supreme Court AKM Shamsul Islam made the disclosure to banglanews on Wednesday. 

Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain will administer the oath at the SC auditorium at 10:00am of the day, he added.

President M Abdul Hamid confirmed the appointment of five additional High Court judges on June 9.

The judges are Justice Ashish Ranjan Das, Justice Mahmudul Haque, Justice Md Badruzzaman, Justice Jafar Ahmed and Justice Kazi M Ejarul Haque Akondo.

The president appointed them being consulted with the chief justice.

The appointment will come into effect since the day they will take the oath.

On June 13, 2012, the president had appointed them as additional judges of the High Court for two years and they took oath on the next day.
