SYLHET:  The Truck Owners and Workers Union on Wednesday announced a 72-hour non-stop strike across the district from 6:00am on June 16.

The announcement came through a press release sighed by union assistant general secretary Rahmat Ali Tarek after an emergency meeting held at its head office in the city  in the afternoon.

The union called the strike to press home their demands to repair Sylhet-Companiganj roads and stop extortion.

Leaders and activists of the union will also held a protest rally on Thursday in the city.
