DHAKA: The India government has sought more details on Nur Hossain, the prime accused of gruesome seven-murder came in Narayanganj, and his aides from the government of Bangladesh.
State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the disclosure while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in the city on Wednesday.
Kamal said, “India confirmed the arrest of Nur and has asked for more information on him and his associates from Bangladesh.”
“India has also sent the documents related to the matter,” added the minster.
On Saturday night, a team of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Kolkata Police arrested Nur and his five aides around 9:30pm near Suvash Chandra Airport of Kolkata.
The team seized a loaded revolver, ten Indian mobile phones, SIM cards, a laptop, pen drive, CD and important documents from his possession.
Following the arrest, they were handed over to Baguihati Thana police.
The police, quoting Nur’s statement, said he rented a flat in the name of taking treatment and police arrested them in the area with the help of International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
Nur went on hiding since the bodies of seven people, including that of the panel mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker were recovered from the Shitalakkhya River on April 30.
On May 27, Interpole issued a red warrant against Nur, the prime accused of the case, upon a request to arrest him from Bangladesh Police on May 22.
