SIRAJGANJ: Two compartments of a container train derailed in Roypur railway station as rail line slippers misplaces due to heavy rainfall on Saturday night.

Railway and local sources said that a container train from Ishwardi derailed in the area around 11:30pm and. As a result the movement of two trains remained stopped in the route.

Later, a rescue train rushed to spot around 10:00am Sunday and started to rescue the derailed compartments.

Confirming the matter Deputy Assistant Engineer Abdul Mannan told banglanews, “Excessive rainfall was the main cause of the derailment but no one was reportedly injured.”

Some 5-6 hours more would be needed to resume the train services, he added.
