SYLHET: The half-day hartal, called by Jamaat-e-Islami was observed amid stray incidents of violence in the metropolitan on Monday.   

Hartal supporters vandalized a numbers of vehicles in various points in the town during the shutdown. 

Jamaat enforced the hartal protesting arrest of city Jamaat Ameer Fakhrul Islam. 

Additional law enforcers were deployed in various important spots of the town.   

However, metropolitan police deputy commissioner Rahmat Ullah denied the vandalize incidents and claimed that the situation was normal during hartal.
