KUSHTIA: Three members of a family received burn injuries in a acid attack by miscreants in Gopalpur village of Abdalpur union under Islami University Thana area on Saturday night.

Sources said that the family members---- mother, son and daughter--- were sleeping in their room around 10:30pm. Then miscreants threw acid aiming them through a window and fled the scene, leaving the three injured.

Hearing the scream of victims, locals rushed to the spot and sent them to Kushtia General Hospital.

Medical Officer of the hospital Dr Omio Kumar said the critically injured one was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Islami University Thana Officer-in-Charge Mir Shariful Islam told banglanews, “Police detained a youth in this connection.”
