Pabna: Vehicular movement came to a halt on Pabna-Chatmohar route after a driver and his helper were assaulted on Thursday morning.

Police were deployed to ease the tensions over the incident of bashing the bus boys.

Witnesses said around 10:00 am a Pabna-bound passenger bus styled ‘Cholar Sathi’ on its way from Chatmahor overtook a local vehicle nicknamed ‘Nasimon’. Later two passengers of Nasimon beat driver Liton and helper Mehedi of Cholar Sathi over the overtaking when the latter reached Rail Bazar.

“Bus workers and leaders blocked the roads on the route in instant protest,” says a firsthand report.

Anisur Rahman Anu, a leader of the local transport sector of Chatmohar, told banglanews24.com, “Bus movement will remain suspended until justice is done in this regard.”
