RAJBARI: Miscreants shot to death a local Awmai League leader in Panchuria union under Sadar upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Sattar, 55, president of ward no.7 of Panchuria Union, also a Bangladesh Railway employee. 

Locals said that a gang of 7-8 miscreants opened fire aiming Abdus Sattar while he was returning home after saying Jumma prayer around 2:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdul Khaleque confirmed the matter to banglanews. 

Rajbari Police Super Rejaul Haque PPM visited the spot, he added.
