DHAKA: Bangladesh is deeply concerned over the current crisis in Iraq, especially the unfolding humanitarian crisis. Bangladesh strongly condemns violence and atrocities.

The discontent came from a press release issued by External Publicity Wing of the Foreign Ministry on Sunday. 

Bangladesh reaffirms its solidarity with Iraq and its people, and underscores the need for maintaining Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with the continuation of democratic process, it added.

The news release added: “The Government of Bangladesh is closely monitoring the current situation in Iraq. 

Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad is in touch with Bangladesh nationals working in Iraq to ensure their safety and well being. 

The suspension of sending workers to Iraq will remain in force till improvement of security situation in Iraq.”
