NARAIL: The 90th birth anniversary of world-renowned artist SM Sultan was observed at his birthplace Narail on Sunday amid much festivity.
District administration, SM Sultan Foundation chalked out daylong program there to mark the day.
The program began by placing floral wreath by district deputy commissioner Abdul Gaffar Khan at the artist’s grave in Masumdia area of the district at 7:00am followed by placing wreath by different organizations.
Other originations and institutions include Narail Press Club, Lal Baul community, SM Sultan Foundation, Shishu Swarga SM Sulatn Bengal Arts College, SM Sultan Fine Arts College, and Murchana Snageet Niketon paid tributes to the artist placing wreath there.

Qurankhani, milad and dou mahfil, art competition and discussions were held at Shishu Swarga auditorium in the town.
Additional deputy commissioner (general) Ananda Kumar Biswas, district nezarat deputy collector (NDC) M Zakir Hossain, Narail Sadar upazila nirbahi officer Shah Abdul Sadi, Sadar upzila chairman Monirul Islam, Narail Press Club president Enamul Kabir and its general secretary Tarek Alam, among others, were present there.
