KUSHTIA: A doctor was killed in cylinder blast of a car after head-on collision with a bus in Barmail area in Bheramara upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Amirul Islam, 50, Medical Officer of Bheramara Upazila Health Complex. 

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Additional Superintendent of police Sohel Reja said the accident occurred when a Rangpur-bound bus and Kushtia-bound car collided head-on in the area on Kushtia-Iswardi highway on 11:30am, leaving the doctor dead on the spot and five other injured.

The injured were rushed to the Kushtia General Hospital.
