‘Society needs patriots to build Sonar Bangla’

DHAKA: Bangladesh permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Dr AK Abdul Momen categorically said that the society needs patriots to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu for building a Sonar Bangla.

He came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion at Bangabandhu auditorium in Bangladesh permanent mission at UN on Friday.

Abdul Momen said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman is not only a name; it is also a confidence, a model, a philosophy as well as a long struggle.

He also said that a group of traitors put blockade on the way of Bangabandhu’s success to build the country.

Programs of the national mourning day were started with flag at half-mast around 10:00am Friday. Later, a discussion and dua mahfil were held at the UN mission auditorium to observe the day where the mission officials joined.
