‘BNP’s progs shouldn’t be allowed in Aug’

DHAKA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said BNP shouldn’t be allowed to hold any programmes in August as they have been involving in conspiracy in this month for years.

The Awami League presidium member made the remark while addressing a program on the occasion of the National Mourning Day at Dhanmondi-32 of the city on Saturday noon.

Bangabandhu Shishukishor Mela arranged the program to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

However, Mohammad Nasim said there that Ziaur Rahman ‘killed’ Bangabandhu in the month of August. “Not only that, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) ‘conducted’ the countrywide bombing in August 17.”

He also alleged that the party also tried to kill Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina on August 21.

“BNP goes on track of conspiracy just after the month starts,” he added.

The senior AL leader urged Ministry of Home Affairs to take necessary steps to prohibit BNP from staging any programme in the month of August.

Criticizing BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s birthday celebration on August 15, the minister said that it is a party of distorted mentality people.

Mohammad Nasim expressed his wonder that how come a 70-years-old cuts cake in her birthday!
