DHAKA: A two-week long short course on International Relations and Diplomacy for junior diplomats of neighboring countries commences at the Foreign Service Academy in the city on Saturday.
External Publicity Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a press release in this connection.
It said, “Some 14 young diplomats from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are participating in the course.
The Academy will hold sessions on current foreign policy issues as well as on the region’s history, culture, democratic values and development priorities.
The trainees will be taken around to historical places, museums, some centres of excellence and important institutions that play important role in the country’s socio-economic development.
Foreign Service Academy provides specialized diplomatic training to the officers of Bangladesh Civil Service (Foreign Affairs) cadre. This is for the first time the Academy has arranged exclusive international training for foreign diplomats.”
