JESSORE: A banker was killed in a road accident on Jessore-Khulna highway in Hatbila area under Sadar upazila in the district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Gaffar, 50, officer of Krishi Bank in Rupdiya Branch in Shakharigati area of Sadar upazila.

Locals said a human hauler, locally known as three-wheeler, knocked another human hauler, locally known as Nasiman, in the area around 10:00am, leaving six people injured.

The injured were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where on duty doctors declared Gaffar dead.

Sub-inspector (SI) Jahangir of Kotwali Model Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
