BOGRA: A journalist was killed and four other journalists were injured in a road accident in Dhankundi area in Sherpur upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abu Bakar Siddique, general secretary of Faridpur Press Club of Pabna district.

The injured are local correspondents of Dainik Ittefaq.

Quoting witnesses, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Thana Ali Ahmed Hashmi told banglanews that a passenger bus knocked their private car while they were returning to Pabna around 4:45pm, leaving Abu Bakar dead on the spot and four others injured.  

The bus managed to flee the scene, OC added.
