40 gold bars seized at Kamalapur station

DHAKA: Railway police arrested a person along with 40 gold bars, weighing five kilograms, from Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Friday morning.

The detainee, Shahin, arrived there by Turna Nishita train around 7:00am.

Police sources said that acting on a tip-off, searched the suspicious youth in Kamalapur station and found the gold bars and nabbed the smuggler.

Market price of the bars is about Tk 2.40-crore, sources added.

Officer-in-Charge of Kamalapur Government Railway Police (GRP) Station Abdul Majid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
