3 die in separate incidents

DHAKA: At least three children, including a teenage boy and a baby girl, have been killed in different incidents at three districts on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Apel, 16, son of Ferdous Miah, residing in Kundkhalaspur village under Gobindaganj’s Gumaniganj union of Gaibandha district, Swadhin, 11, a student of class V in Gazirchat Radiant School of Savar’s Ashulia near the capital and Sadia, 5, daughter of Abul Kalam, residing in Karipara under Akhalia Nayabazar of Sylhet Shahartali.

Reports sent by banglanews local correspondents are as following.

In GAIBANDHA, Electrocution killed here a teenage on Saturday night while another is fighting for life.

Locals told banglanews that Apel along with a neighbor of him named Shipon came in contact with live electric wire around 7:00pm at home-side field while returning.

It left Apel dead on the spot and Shipon injured.

Confirming the matter, Gumaniganj Union Parishad Member Jaglul Bashar Ripon said that Shipon is now undergoing treatment at Gobindaganj Health Complex.

In ASHULIA, a schoolboy, Swadhin, a student of class V in Gazirchat Radiant School of Savar’s Ashulia, committed suicide here on Saturday night.

Quoting family members, police said that the boy, who earlier informed his aunt about failure to answer the math examination as per expectation, found dead, hanging with a Gamucha around his neck, around 8:00pm.

The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.

SYLHET: A minor girl drowned here in rain water at Sylhet’s Karipara under Akhalia Nayabazar of Shahartali on Saturday night.

Locals said that Sadia drowned in a drain while playing at their home’s veranda.

Later, she was found dead.
