CHITTAGONG: Coast Guard personnel seized 200,000 pieces yaba tablets worth of Tk 10 crore from KAFCO area on river Karnaphuli in the district early Sunday.

Sources said, on suspicion, a patrol team of Coast Guard signaled a boat to stop around 2:00am Sunday but people on-board tried to escape with the vessel.

Later, chasing the boat, the law enforcers found the yaba tablets but the smugglers fled the scene.

Coast Guard West Zone Commander Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
