HC rule against 3 Indian TV channels

DHAKA: The High Court (HC) on Sunday issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain within four weeks why Indian TV channels--Star Jalsha, Star Plus, Zee Bangla--should not be banned in Bangladesh.

An HC bench comprising Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice M Ashraful Kamal issued the rule after a writ petition was filed with the court.

Information Secretary, Home Secretary, BTRC Chairman, BTV Director General were made respondents to writ.
