RANGPUR: Ten teachers of Begum Rokeya University resigned from 19 administrative posts as they were denied promotion.

The teachers are- Dean of Bangla Faculty, also provost of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujbi Hall Dr Saidul Haq, assistant provosts of the same Hall Sheikh Mayez, Saidur Rahman, Tania Tofaz, Dean of Mathematics and Physics Faculty Dr Hafizur Rahman Selim, Head of Political Science, Mass Communication and Public Administration Department Dr Morshed, Head of Management Department Nisar Ahmed, Marketing Department Head Jahid Hossain, English Department Head Mohammad Ali and Chemistry Department Head Tariqul Islam.

They submitted resignation letters to acting Registrar Morshed Ali Sunday. 

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Morshed Ali said, “VC has been informed about the matter and he said new appointments for the posts will be made after talking with resigned teachers.”

While the teachers said they were compelled to resign as did not get any response from university VC Dr Nur-Un-Nobi after several applications for promotion.
