CHITTAGONG: Police held eight Myanmar nationals and three Bangladeshi agents at Baklia Thana of the port city.
They were nabbed from city’s Shah Amanat Bridge area at 8:30am on Sunday.
Baklia Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Mohsin told banglanews that eight Myanmar nationals including six men and two women entered Teknaf illegally on Friday.
Three Bangladeshi agents were bringing them to the port city with a promise of giving work, the OC added.
Police on tiff-off held them during their entrance to the port city.
Police were also asking the Myanmar nationals to know their original names and addresses.
The Bangladeshi agents were identified as Enayet Khan of Cox’s Bazar sadar, and Shamsul Alam and Mohammad Idris of Teknaf upazila.
A case was filed in this connection.
