DHAKA: Defence lawyer Barrister Najib Momen said death row convict Kamaruzzaman might get justice in review petition.
Making the remark in a press briefing on Sunday noon, he also expressed hope that Law minister will move from the decision of 7-day explanation.
Besides, another lawyer Shishir Munir said Kamaruzzaman will not seek presidential mercy until the Supreme Court disposes of his review petition to be filed with the Supreme Court.
On November 3, Supreme Court Appellate Division upheld the death sentence against Jamaat assistant secretary general Muhammad Kamaruzzaman.
On May 9, 2013, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2, led-by Justice Obaidul Hassan, awarded capital punishment to the Jamaat assistant secretary general for his crimes against humanity during country’s Liberation War in 1971.
