DHAKA: Police detained one more person for his suspected involvement in the killing of Maulana Nurul Islam Faruqi, an program anchor of private Channel-I, from Chauddagram of Comilla on Saturday night.

The detainee is – Abu Yusuf, son of Tuku Mia, hailed from Chauddagram of Comilla.

Confirming the matter, Chauddagram Thana Officer-in-Charge Uttam Kumar Barua told banglanews, “Acting on a tip off, law enforcers detained him from the area and then Sher-e-Bangla nagar Thana police identified him.”

Sher-e-Bangla nagar Thana Sub-Inspector Ahad Ali told banglanews, the detainee is being taken to Dhaka.

On Wednesday night, miscreants stabbed Maulana Nurul Islam Faruqi to death at his East Razabazar residence in the city.
