RANGAMATI: Miscreants shot here a supporter of Jana Sanghati Samity (JSS, Santu Larma group) to death at Ramhari Para under Ghilachari union of Naniarchar upazila early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Shanti Kumar Chakma, 65, resided in that area.

Locals told banglanews that the incident took place around 4:00am.

Miscreants at that time shot Shanti Kumar Chakma after awaking from sleep and left him dead on the spot, they added.

However, JSS assistant information and publicity secretary Sajib Chakma identified the dead as their supporter and blamed United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) for the murder.

Denying the responsibility of killing, UPDF spokesman Michael Chakma said that their people didn’t commit the incident.
