DHAKA: Dr Hasan Mahmud, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on environment and forests ministry, categorically on Sunday said all brick fields were ordered to maintain environment friendly mechanism from October.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after a meeting at the National Parliament media center in city.

Dr Hasan Mahmud said that, following the matter, letters will be sent to all brick field owners through Deputy Commissioners.

Otherwise, the government will take actions, he added.

He also said around 40 percent brick fields have been using environment friendly technology. 

The government will take action to make rest of the brick field environment friendly.
