PABNA: A college student was killed as driver of a local Awami League leader was playing with leader’s pistol in Radhanagar area of the district town on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Masud Hossain, 22, a fourth year student of Accounting Department (Honours) of Government Edward College, son of Moksed Ali, hailed from Solabaria village under Ataikula Thana of Pabna.

Locals said that District Awami League Vice-president Abdul Hamid Master left his revolver in his car around 9:00pm. Meanwhile, car driver was playing with the gun and accidentally a bullet came out of it and pierce victim’s chest, leaving him dead on the spot.

Pabna Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Kazi Haniful Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
