DHAKA: Security measures have been boosted in the premises of Alia Madrasa centering BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s appearance before the court set up here.
BNP chief Khaleda Zia is set to appear before the court at 11: 30am on Wednesday in Zia Orphanage and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.
Sources cornered said extra security measures have been taken to avert any untoward situation centering the Khaleda Zia’s presence in the court.
Besides, uniformed police, several civil dressed law enforcer’s presence were noticed in the area.
Chalkbazar thana officer-in-charge Azizul Islam told banglanews that to maintain law and order and ensure security in the area, additional police have been deployed. Law enforcers have remained active to tackle any unexpected situation.
Earlier, the court fixed Wednesday for recording deposition in Zia Charitable and Orphanage Trust graft cases against BNP chief Khaleda Zia, her son Tarique Rahman and six others.
Special Judge-3 Basudeb Roy fixed the new date in response to time plea by defense.
BNP leaders-activists have started thronging the Alia Madrasa area centering their chairperson’s appearance before the court.
