DHAKA: Custom officials seized 12-kg gold at Shahjalal International Airport on Monday noon.

Custom joint-commissioner Kazi Mohammad Ziauddin said that acting on a tip-off they conducted a search drive in the plane FZ-583.

The plane, which came from Dubai, landed in Dhaka at 11:00am.

Later, the crew informed the law enforcers that its 21/E seat seemed strange.

After the search, law enforcers seized the 100 gold bars from the seat. 

The recovered gold will be worth of Taka 5.49-crore, the custom official added.
