Dhaka: Unidentified goons stabbed and critically wounded a dyeing trader as he denied them toll in the city’s Shyampur area Sunday.

The injured, Ismail Hossain, 50, the owner of King Enterprise and Dyeing Mill, from Postagola Industrial Area in the capital claimed that local gang-leader Alif demanded Tk 5 lakh from him as toll just few days ago.

“Sunday they came to my office for the money. When I declined to give them the money, they attacked me,” he said.

Later, the toughs fired some rounds of gunshots and fled the scene.

Local people rescued and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
