DHAKA: The Ganajagaran Mancha set their three-day program protesting Supreme Court’s verdict to Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee for imprisonment unto death for his crimes against humanity during the country’s war of independence in 1971.

One of the conveners of Ganajagaran Mancha Arif Zebtik declared the program at city’s Shahbagh area on Wednesday afternoon.

He told the media that they will continue the demonstration, which started in the afternoon, till 10:00pm.

On Thursday, they will stage demonstration across the country from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

Later on Friday, the Ganajagaran Mancha will demonstrate at Shahbagh from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

President of the demonstration Ferdousi Priyabhashini said “we want Sayedee’s capital punishment. Not only for him, we want capital punishment also for all war criminals”.

She also condemned the police attack on Ganajagaran Mancha activists.

Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi deputy general secretary Jamsed Amwar Tapan and Central Khelaghar former general secretary Tahmina Sultana Sathi, among others, were present at the event.
