DHAKA: A couple sustained severe burn injuries in a fire at their residence in city’s Hazaribagh area early Thursday.

The victims are Khalilur Rahman, 45, and his wife Shamsunnahar Shima, 35.

Sources said that the fire originated from mosquito coil between 3:00am to 3:30am, they added.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, victims’ son Sakibul Islam said that fire burnt his father’s 90 percent of the body and 60 percent of his mother’s body.

They are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka medical College Hospital.
