DHAKA: Rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong route was restored on early Friday after more than seven hours of disruption following a train-bus collision at Fatehpur rail crossing under Sadar upazila of the district.
Sources said that train service resumed around 6:00am after a rescue train managed to salvage derailed train.
Earlier on Thursday night a Chittagong-bound train collided with a deformed passenger bus in the area.
No passengers of the bus were reportedly injured in the accident that took place around 10:30pm.
Sub-Inspector of Feni railway police Mejbah-ul-Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
