DHAKA: The first Namaz-e-Janaza of Ayesha Foyez, mother of noted writer Humayun Ahmed was held after Johr prayers at Masjid-ul-Aman mosque in city’s Mirpur area on Saturday.

Educationist Prof. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, son of Ayesha Foyez, said that the body will be taken to Mohanganj of Netrokona where she will be laid to rest beside the grave of her mother on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Ayesha Foyez breathed her last due to old age complexity at Labaid Hospital around 7:00am.

Ayesha Foyez was the mother of Humayun Ahmed, noted writer, and science fiction author Prof Zafar Iqbal and cartoonist Ahsan Habib.

She was born on Mar 23, 1930 at Barhatta's Koitali village to Abul Hossain and Khairun Nesa.

She was the wife of Faizur Rahman, a police officer, also a Liberation War martyr.
