RIYADH: A total of 28 Bangladeshi pilgrims, who came to perform the holy hajj this year, died in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The deceased include 22 men and six women. Of them, 21 pilgrims breathed their last in Makkah, six in Madinah and one in Jeddah.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Makkah hajj mission sources said that the some of the bodies were buried and others will be buried soon in Makkah and Madinah cities.
According to the information of hajj mission, some 85,317 pilgrims from Bangladesh have already arrived in KSA through 226 private and public flights to perform the holy hajj.
However, this year, a total of 98,683 pilgrims from Bangladeshi are expected to perform the holy hajj.
On the other hand, Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matior Rahman arrived at Jeddah airport on Thursday morning by flight of BG-5087 to visit hajj mission.
