DMCH: A youth burnt his father to death in Firozpur village of Joydebpur in Gazipur district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abbas Ali, 60.

Family sources said that victim’s son Didarul Alam, 23, is an unemployed and a derailed man.  He took money from his father regularly but on Saturday Abbas Ali refused to give money to his son.

Later, becoming furious Didar set fire to his father while he was asleep at his room at 2:00am, leaving him critically injured. 

Later, with 90 percent of his body burnt, Abbas died at burnt unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday morning.

Burn Unit Duty Doctor Rahima Aktar told banglanews that the victim died around 7:00am.

Confirming the matter, DMCH police outpost-in-Charge Mozammel Haque said that the body was kept at hospital morgue for autopsy.
