NETROKONA: Ayesha Foyez, mother of noted writer Humayun Ahmed, was laid to rest beside her mother’s grave at Mohanganj of the district on Sunday morning.
Ayesha Foyez’s younger brother Mahbubunnabi Sheikh told banglanews that according to the last wish of his sister, she was laid to rest beside the grave of their mother at 11:00am.
Earlier in the day, her second Namaz-e-Janaza was held in the premises of Sheikh Bari Rice Mill around 10:00am.
Educationist Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Cartoonist Ahsan Habib, Municipal Mayor Mahbubunnabi Sheikh, Mohanganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mozammel Haque, Upazila Parisad Chairman Shafiqul Islam and people from all walks of life joined the funeral.
Earlier on Saturday, Ayesha Foyez breathed her last due to old age complexity at Labaid Hospital around 7:00am.
Ayesha Foyez was the mother of Humayun Ahmed, noted writer, and science fiction author Prof Zafar Iqbal and cartoonist Ahsan Habib.
She was born on Mar 23, 1930 at Barhatta's Koitali village to Abul Hossain and Khairun Nesa.
She was the wife of Faizur Rahman, a police officer, also a Liberation War martyr.
