DHAKA: A Senior Principal Officer of Sonali Bank was killed in a road accident in Uttarkhan Master Para area of the city on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as AKM Saifullah, Senior Principal Officer of Sonali Bank head office and son of one late Abdul Gafur, hailed from Raispur of Satkhira district.

Quoting local people, Sub-Inspector of Uttarkhan Thana Maruful Islam told banglanews that an easy-bike, a battery-run vehicle, knocked Saifullah while crossing the road, leaving him critically injured.

Saifullah succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital, he added.

We have seized the easy-bike but its driver managed to flee the scene, he added.
