BAGERHAT: A cargo vessel with 650 metric tonnes cement clinker capsized in Pashur river in Joymonighol area of Mongla port in the district on Tuesday morning.

No causalities were reported from the incident.

Sources said that a cargo vessel hit the clinker-laden cargo vessel named Noyonsree-3, which was returning to Elephant Brand Cement factory.

Confirming the matter, Mongla Port Authority Harbor Master Khan Mohammad Aktaruzzaman said that a rescue ship MV Panna has started salvage operation.

Earlier on September 12, another cargo vessel with 600 metric tonnes cement clinker capsized in Boya area of Mongla.
