DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members on Friday night seized 1,20,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Teknaf border area of Cox’s Bazar.

BGB headquarters’ public relations officer (PRO) Mohsin Reza confirmed the matter to banglanews on Saturday morning.

He said acting on tip off, BGB personnel conducted a drive at sluice gate number-4 of Naf River adjacent to Myanmar border on Friday midnight and recovered 1,20,000 pieces of Yaba tablets. 

However, sensing the law enforcers’ presence, drag peddlers left the scene abandoning the consignment of Yaba tablets, he added.
