MUNSHIGANJ: Several thousands of home-bound people of the country’s southern region are facing immense sufferings as a five-kilometer long tailback appeared on highways on the both sides of Mawa-Kawrakandi ferry crossing point of the river Padma.
The tailback is getting longer as vehicles are increasing with the clock ticking.
Mawa Marine police outpost In-Charge (SI) Khandakar Khalid Hossin told banglanews, around five hundreds vehicles that left Dhaka are awaiting ferry at Mawa point to cross the river Padma.
Several hundreds vehicles remains stranded at Kawrakandi point, other side of the river.
Police are working to lessen the traffic gridlock.
