KHULNA: Thirteen robbers were killed in a gunfight with police in Deluti village in Paikgachha Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Sources said that a gang of robbers attacked the home of Zhilbunia College teacher Proshanta Kumar Dhali around 5:00am. Then, on information police rushed to the spot and cordoned the house. 

Sensing the presence of police the robbers opened fire aiming police and in reply police also opened fire.

Meanwhile, police recovered nine guns, 32-round bullets and a trawler from the spot.

Khulna Police Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
