DCC busy in city cleaning tasks

DHAKA: Dhaka City Corporations, both north and south, are passing a busy time on Tuesday in removing the wastes of sacrificial animals of Eid-ul-Azha.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) managing director Captain Dipan Kumar Saha said that the cleaning workers are using bleaching powder and antiseptic medicines to clean the waste.

Additional 340 workers were joined with the regular stuff of DCC and a total of 67 trucks, 24 dumpers were also being used in the cleaning mission, he added.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Chief Executive Officer Ansar Ali Khan told banglanews that the wastage of sacrificial animals of Eid-ul-Azha will be removed in previously declared 36 hours.

Besides, Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (WASA), Army and NAVY are also helping DCC in the city cleaning tasks.

Earlier, the corporations cancelled Eid holidays of all officials and employees of its health and waste management department and recruited additional workers for the job.
