DHAKA: At least 15 people, including four women and a girl, were killed and 24 others injured in separate road accidents in Comilla, Feni and nature districts on Sunday.

Comilla Correspondent reports: Seven people, including a child, were killed and 14 others injured when a Dhaka-bound truck collided with a passenger bus of Shikder Paribahan on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

The accident took place in front of Mian Bazar Highway Hotel of Chauddagram upazila of district around 6:45am, which left the truck driver, his helper and four passengers of the bus dead on the spot.

While another one succumbed to injuries at the Upazila Health Complex.

Details of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Of the deceased, four are male and three, including a child, are female.

The injured were rushed to the local hospitals.

Mian Bazar Highway police sergeant M Sahabuddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Feni Correspondent reports: three people were killed and five others injured when a Chittagong-bound bus turned turtle as it hit a roadside tree around 7:30am after its diver had lost control over the steering.

The accident took place on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in South Chhanua area of Feni Bypass road.

Two of the deceased were identified as Mamun, 17 and Josna, while identities of the others could not be known immediately.

Mohipal Highway police outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector Saleh Ahmed Pathan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Comilla Correspondent adds: a man was killed and five others were injured when two buses collided with each other in Lalbagh area of Sadar area of the area in the morning.

Details of the deceased and the injured could not be known immediately.


Banglanews Natore correspondent reports: Four people were killed in a road accident on Bonpara-Hatikomrul highway in Lathuria area on Sunday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, In-Charge of Bonpara Highway Police Fuad Burhani said: “A rashly driven truck rammed an easy-bike in the area at 3:00pm, leaving the casualties.”
